We were asked to look at an old conservatory attached to a home just outside Thame. The conservatory was about 20 years old and the wood frame had rotted in places and several panes of glass were cracked. The roof leaked and the guttering didn’t work.
First we removed all the glass and then inspected the wooden frame. Where necessary we removed unsound wood and replaced it with a solid hardwood shaped to fit in with the conservatory design.
We then inspected the guttering and removed that and identified the areas where the roof was leaking.
We then re-glazed the whole conservatory with double glazed units and painted the frame to its original colour.
Once completed new guttering was added where required and the refurbished conservatory was now as good as its original condition wiith no leaks and glazing that allowed the conservatory to be used the whole year round.
